Customer Need

This project involved the installation of a containerised UV and chlorine at bore location. This included piping to existing reservoir at the location of the treatment plant, electrical and control works and Bore head civil works.

This project had a tight timeframe, including the engagement period, as the client had concerns around capacity of the Te Awamutu water supply at the end of summer.

What We Did

Filtec design and built the containerised UV and chlorination plant and engaged subcontractors for the civil electrical and controls portions. The plant was operational and within specifications within 2 months of award including design, supply, build and site works. This was only achievable through a fantastic working relationship with both the project management and operations teams at Waipa DC.

The containerised plant was constructed at the Filtec workshop. The civil components of work were completed prior to the delivery of the container and piping and cabling completed soon after delivery.

The Results

The biggest risk identified was around the build having to commence immediately. This was mitigated by assigning individuals with a wealth of experience, who understood the requirements. Design reviews were conducted as early as possible to identify any further risks.
