FAQs
Do UV lamps contain mercury?
Yes. UV lamps contain small amounts of mercury and should be disposed of responsibly through appropriate recycling processes.
Which UV lamp brands are accepted?
The service supports TrojanUV, Viqua, Xylem and Wedeco lamps supplied through FILTEC.
Do I need a Return Authorisation (RA)?
Yes. All lamp returns must have an approved RA before being sent to FILTEC.
Can broken lamps be returned?
No. Broken lamps cannot be accepted through the Lamp Recycling Service.
Who pays return freight?
Customers are responsible for arranging and paying return freight.
Is the service available to residential customers?
Yes. FILTEC’s Lamp Recycling Service is available to customers using supported FILTEC-supplied UV systems, including residential VIQUA systems and commercial or municipal UV installations.
Customers must obtain a Return Authorisation (RA) before sending lamps for recycling.
What happens to the recycled materials?
Glass, aluminium and other recoverable materials are separated for recycling, while mercury-containing components are safely extracted and disposed of under strict controls.
